Tyler Plante (born April 16, 1987) is a former professional ice hockey goaltender. He was born in the United States but is also Canadian. Tyler played for many teams, including the Lørenskog IK in Norway. After he stopped playing, he became a coach. He is now the goaltending coach for the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL.

Playing Career Highlights
Tyler was chosen by the Florida Panthers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. This is a special event where professional teams pick young players. He was the 32nd player picked overall.
Early Success in the WHL
Before joining a professional team, Tyler played for the Brandon Wheat Kings. This team is part of the Western Hockey League, a major junior league in Canada. In the 2004–05 season, Tyler was named the best rookie in the WHL. He won the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy for this amazing achievement.
Professional Journey
After playing three full seasons with the Wheat Kings, Tyler signed a contract with the Florida Panthers in 2007. He spent most of his time playing for teams linked to the Panthers. These teams were the Rochester Americans and later the San Antonio Rampage. These teams play in the AHL, which is a league just below the main NHL.
Sometimes, players are sent to a lower league to gain more experience. Tyler was sent to the ECHL to play for the Dayton Bombers and later the Cincinnati Cyclones. This helped him improve his skills.
Playing Overseas
Tyler decided to play hockey in other countries to continue his career. He signed with Mora IK, a team in Sweden. Later, he played for HC Asiago in Italy. In the 2012–13 season, Tyler helped HC Asiago win the Serie A Championship. This was a big win for his team!
Becoming a Coach
Tyler stopped playing professional hockey in 2016. He then joined his old team, the Brandon Wheat Kings, as a goaltending coach. In this role, he helps young goalies learn and get better.
Personal Life
Tyler Plante was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the United States. He grew up in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. His father, Cam Plante, was also a hockey player. Tyler's brother, Alex Plante, was also a high draft pick in the NHL.
Tyler got married in 2013. He and his wife, Jordana, have two children. Today, Tyler works in real estate in Brandon, Manitoba, with his father.
