Cambria is a small, unincorporated community located in Blue Earth County, in the state of Minnesota, United States. An unincorporated community is a place that does not have its own local government. Instead, it is usually managed by the county or a larger local authority.
History of Cambria
Cambria was officially planned and laid out in the year 1900. This process is called "platting." It means that maps were drawn to show where streets, lots, and public areas would be. The community was named after Cambria Township, which is the larger area it is part of.
For many years, Cambria had its own post office. It first opened in 1881 but closed just a year later in 1882. The post office reopened in 1901 and served the community for many decades. However, it permanently closed its doors in 1967.
