Discovering Campaign, Tennessee

Campaign is a quiet place where people live and work. Even though it's not a big city, it has its own unique history and location. It's a great example of the many smaller communities that make up the United States.

Where is Campaign Located?

Campaign is nestled in the beautiful landscape of Warren County, in the state of Tennessee. It's easy to find, as it's situated just off a main road called U.S. Route 70S. If you're traveling from nearby towns, Campaign is southwest of Rock Island and northeast of McMinnville.

Two important rivers flow near Campaign. The Collins River passes to the northwest, and the Rocky River flows to the east. These rivers are part of the natural beauty of the area. The community also has its own ZIP code, which is 38550.

How Did Campaign Get Its Name?

The name "Campaign" has an interesting story! It comes from an early settler named Joseph Campain. His last name was spelled without the "g." Joseph Campain was an important person in the area during the late 1800s. He ran a store right next to the railroad tracks.

Because of his store and its location, the community was first known as "Campaign Stop." This name probably meant it was a stopping point along the railroad. Over time, the name was shortened to just "Campaign," which is what it's called today.
