Campbell Falls is a beautiful waterfall found in the Umpqua National Forest in Oregon. It is located east of Canyonville, Oregon, and about 12 miles upstream from Tiller. This waterfall is well-known as the starting point for exciting river rafting trips on the South Umpqua River. It is also the main attraction at the popular Boulder Creek Campground.

The Story Behind the Name

The waterfall was named in 1949 to honor Robert G. Campbell. He was an Assistant Ranger for the forest area around the waterfall before he joined the military. Robert Campbell was a brave person who served his country. He was recognized for his actions in 1944.

To remember him, a special bronze plaque was placed. You can find this plaque on a large boulder. It sits in the middle of an island in the South Umpqua River.
