Can't Be Heaven (also known as Forever Together) is a fun comedy-drama film from 1999. It was directed by Richard Friedman. The movie stars Ralph Macchio (who you might know from The Karate Kid) and Bryan Burke. This film is about a young boy who gets help from a friendly ghost to solve his problems.
What's the Story?
The movie follows Danny (Bryan Burke), a middle school student. Danny really likes his best friend, Julie (Michelle Trachtenberg). But then a new student named Archie (Michael Galeota) arrives. Archie quickly becomes popular with Julie.
Feeling sad, Danny goes to the graveyard where his dad is buried. He talks about his feelings there. Suddenly, he meets Hubbie the Ghost (Ralph Macchio). Hubbie is a friendly ghost from the 1930s! Hubbie offers to help Danny with his girl troubles.
Hubbie gives Danny lots of advice. But his old-fashioned tips often don't work out. This leaves Danny feeling even more down. Danny soon learns that Hubbie also had a special person he loved before he died.
In the end, Danny and Julie finally get together at a school dance. And with Danny's help, Hubbie even gets to reconnect with his own lost love. It's a heartwarming story about friendship and finding love.
