The Can Tinturé Museum is a special place in Esplugues de Llobregat, Spain. It's located in an old house built in the late 1800s. This museum is the first in Spain to focus only on sample tiles.

The Can Tinturé Museum also helps manage another museum. This other museum is at the Pujol i Bausis factory, called La Rajoleta. This factory was very important for making industrial tiles in Catalonia. It was especially famous during the time of Art Nouveau. The museum is part of a group of museums in the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network. It is also connected to the territorial system of the Science and Technology Museum of Catalonia.

What You'll See

The main collection at the Can Tinturé Museum is the Salvador Miquel sample tile collection. The town council of Esplugues bought this collection in 1999. It has more than 3,000 tiles! These tiles show many different styles and models. They range from very old medieval times to modern industrial tiles.

La Rajoleta Factory

The Pujol i Bausis ceramic factory is also known as La Rajoleta. This name means small tile in Catalan. The factory opened to the public as a museum in 2002. It has a small display that tells the story of the factory. You can learn how tiles were made there.
