Candace June Clark (born June 20, 1947) is an American actress and model. She is famous for her role as Debbie Dunham in the 1973 movie American Graffiti. For this role, she was even nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She is also well-known for playing Mary Lou in the 1976 film The Man Who Fell to Earth.

Candy Clark was born in Norman, Oklahoma. Her mother was Ella, and her father, Thomas Clark, was a chef. She grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. She went to Green B. Trimble Technical High School.
Career Highlights
Candy Clark started her acting career in 1972. Her first movie role was Faye in John Huston's film Fat City.
She starred in many popular movies. Some of these include American Graffiti (1973), The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976), and The Big Sleep (1978). She also appeared in Blue Thunder (1983), Amityville 3-D (1983), and Cat's Eye (1985). In 1988, she played Francine Hewitt in The Blob.
In 2009, she acted in the movie The Informant!. She played the mother of Mark Whitacre, a character played by Matt Damon. In 2011, Candy Clark traveled to Berlin. There, she worked on a play called Images of Louise Brooks. It was directed by Sven Mundt.
Besides movies, she has also appeared on many TV shows. She was a guest star on shows like Magnum, P.I., Simon & Simon, and Matlock. She also appeared in Criminal Minds and Twin Peaks: The Return.
Personal Life
Candy Clark dated actor Jeff Bridges for several years. They met while working on the movie Fat City in 1972. She was married to Marjoe Gortner and later to Jeff Wald.
