Canet gun facts for kids

The Canet guns were powerful cannons designed by a French engineer named Gustave Canet. He worked for a company called Schneider et Cie. These guns were very important for warships.

The Schneider company was very good at selling these guns to other countries. One important customer was the Empire of Japan.

Used by Japan

Japan bought many Canet guns for their new warships. These guns were placed on three special cruisers: the Matsushima, the Itsukushima, and the Hashidate.

These powerful guns were used during the First Sino-Japanese War. They helped Japan in important naval battles.
