Caniggia Ginola Elva (born on July 14, 1996) is a professional footballer. He plays as a midfielder for the German club Rot-Weiß Erfurt. He also plays for the Saint Lucia national team.

Early Life and Soccer Start
Caniggia Elva was born in Vieux Fort, a town on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. When he was 11, his family moved to Canada. There, he started playing youth soccer with a team called Calgary South West United.
At 17, he got a chance to try out for the famous English club Arsenal. After that, he went to Germany for a trial with Bundesliga team VfB Stuttgart. He officially joined VfB Stuttgart when he turned 18.
Playing for Clubs
Starting with VfB Stuttgart
On his 18th birthday, July 14, 2014, Caniggia signed a four-year contract with VfB Stuttgart. He had also tried out for other big clubs like FC Barcelona and SL Benfica. However, he faced a challenge: he couldn't get Canadian citizenship right away. This meant he wasn't allowed to play for Stuttgart's reserve team or their youth team. So, he didn't get much game time at first.
Loan to Strasbourg
To help him get more experience, Caniggia was sent on loan to RC Strasbourg. This French club played in the third division. He stayed there until the end of the 2015 season.
Playing for VfB Stuttgart II
For the 2015-16 season, Elva joined VfB Stuttgart II. This is Stuttgart's second team. He played his first game for them on August 29, 2015. He scored his first goal for the team in February 2016. Caniggia played 57 games for VfB Stuttgart II over three seasons. He left the club in July 2018.
Time with Würzburger Kickers
In September 2018, Elva joined 3. Liga club Würzburger Kickers. With this team, he helped them win the 2019 Bavarian Cup. He scored 4 goals and made 2 assists during his time there. After the season, he decided not to extend his contract with the club.
Moving to FC Ingolstadt 04
After one year with Würzburger Kickers, Caniggia signed a two-year contract. He joined another 3. Liga team, FC Ingolstadt 04. He played 67 games for them, scoring 8 goals.

In September 2017, Elva was called up to the Canadian senior team. This was for a friendly match against El Salvador. He was also on Canada's list of players for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Caniggia's father, Titus "Titi" Elva, was also a famous footballer. He played as a striker for the Saint Lucia national team. Caniggia's uncle, Olivier Elva, was also a defender for Saint Lucia. Caniggia's unique first and middle names, Caniggia and Ginola, are tributes to two famous footballers. They are Claudio Caniggia from Argentina and David Ginola from France.
