The Guadeloupe national football team (also known as French: Sélection de la Guadeloupe de football) represents Guadeloupe in men's international football. Guadeloupe is a French overseas department and region. The team is managed by the Ligue guadeloupéenne de football, which is a local part of the FFF.

Because Guadeloupe is a part of France, it is not a member of FIFA. This means the team cannot play in the FIFA World Cup or other FIFA-only competitions. Players from Guadeloupe are French citizens, so they can play for the France national football team. However, Guadeloupe is a member of CONCACAF and the CFU. This allows them to compete in all tournaments organized by these groups. The FFF allows its regional leagues to organize or join international sports events.

Guadeloupe's best achievement so far was reaching the final of the 2010 Caribbean Championship. They lost to Jamaica in a penalty shootout. In the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Guadeloupe made it to the semi-finals in 2007. They played very well in that tournament. They beat Canada and tied with Haiti in the group stage. In the knockout rounds, they defeated Honduras before losing 1–0 to Mexico in the semi-finals.

The team also played in the Caribbean Cup and the Coupe de l'Outre-Mer. Guadeloupe did not win either of these competitions before they stopped being held in 2017 and 2013.

Team History: Major Achievements

Surprising Success in the CONCACAF Gold Cup

Guadeloupe surprised many by qualifying for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2007. They earned their spot by finishing fourth in the 2006–07 Caribbean Nations Cup. This was Guadeloupe's first time in the Gold Cup. Their first game on June 6, 2007, was a 1–1 draw against Haiti. In their next match, Guadeloupe won 2–1 against Canada in front of 20,000 fans in Miami. They then lost 1–0 to Costa Rica.

Guadeloupe still moved on to the knockout stage. They were one of the best third-place teams. In the quarter-finals, they faced Honduras and won 2–1. Honduras had been playing very well, beating Mexico and Cuba. In the semi-finals, Guadeloupe lost 1–0 to Mexico. Even with the loss, Guadeloupe was praised for their strong defense. Their performance was the best by a Caribbean island team since Trinidad and Tobago in 2000.

More Gold Cup Appearances

Guadeloupe's good performance in the 2008 Caribbean Championship (third place) meant they qualified for the Gold Cup again. For the 2009 tournament, Guadeloupe was in Group C with Mexico, Panama, and Nicaragua. They started with two wins, beating Panama 2–1 and Nicaragua 2–0. In their last group game, they lost 2–0 to Mexico.

Finishing second in their group, Guadeloupe again reached the knockout stage. They played against Costa Rica in the quarter-finals. Costa Rica scored two goals early and ended up winning with five goals. Guadeloupe scored one goal in the second half.

In 2021, Guadeloupe qualified for the Gold Cup again. On June 27, 2023, Guadeloupe tied with Canada 2–2 in a Gold Cup group stage match.
