Canoe Lake 165 is a special place called an Indian reserve in northern Saskatchewan, Canada. It is located in the beautiful boreal forest near Canoe Lake. This area has been the traditional hunting grounds for the Woodland Cree people for a very long time.
The reserve is about 30 miles west of Beauval. In 2016, about 912 people lived here. The reserve includes a community called Canoe Narrows. The name of the reserve and the settlement in the Cree language is nêhiyaw-wapâsihk ᓀᐦᐃᔭᐤ ᐘᐹᓯᕽ.
Next to Canoe Narrows, you'll find two other villages. To the east is Jans Bay, with about 187 people. To the west is Cole Bay, home to about 230 people.
Long ago, Commercial fishing was the main way people supported themselves here. However, there are fewer fish now than there used to be. Today, the community mostly relies on forestry, which means working with trees and wood.
