Canvas Outdoor Museum Show
Founded 2015

The Canvas Outdoor Museum Show is a cool art event held every year in West Palm Beach, Florida. It happens in the second week of November. This show was started by Nicole Henry, who owns an art gallery there.

The main idea of the Canvas show is to turn public spaces into an outdoor art museum. Artists from all over the world come to create amazing art directly on buildings and other public spots. You can see different kinds of art like murals, street art, video art, and special installation art.

Since it started in 2015, the show has grown a lot. It has made downtown West Palm Beach a popular place for tourists. People visit all year long to see the outdoor art museum as it gets bigger with new artworks each year. The show even expanded to include nearby Lake Worth, Florida.

Meet the Artists!

Each year, the Canvas show features about 18 to 20 artists. These artists come from many different countries. Some are already famous, and others are new and exciting.

The First Show: 2015

The very first Canvas show was in November 2015. It had 20 artists from places like the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Puerto Rico. Some of the artists included Herakut, Kobra, and Ron English.

These artists created over 18 large murals and special art pieces. You could find them all around Downtown West Palm Beach. They were on buildings and other structures in places like the City Hall Courtyard and Royal Park Bridge.

Local Showdown

The Canvas show also has a special event called the "Local Showdown." This is where local artists compete for a chance to be in the next year's main show. In 2015, the Local Showdown was in Northwood Village. Seven local artists showed their skills. Amanda Valdes won the competition. People voted for their favorite artist using the Canvas app.

More Art in 2016 and 2017

In 2016, the show grew to include Lake Worth, Florida. Artists from the UK, US, Brazil, The Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, Germany, and France participated. Some of the artists included Amanda Valdes, Greg Mike, and HULA.

The 2017 show also took place in both West Palm Beach and Lake Worth. Some artists who were very popular in previous shows were invited back. New artists included D*Face, Kobra, and Jennifer Chaparro. Jennifer Chaparro was the winner of the 2017 Local Showdown.

Canvas Art Charities

In August 2015, a group of people started CANVAS Art Charities. This is a special not-for-profit organization. It helps fund and organize art events all year long. Its goal is to support art in public spaces.

Artist Residency Program

The charity also has an artist residency program. In 2015, artist Dean Zeus Coleman won this residency. He created a special art installation in Downtown Abacoa in Jupiter, Florida.
