Cape Blossom facts for kids

Cape Blossom is a piece of land that sticks out into the sea, located in Alaska. It's also known by its Iñupiaq name, Igluġruat. This cape is found on the Baldwin Peninsula and extends southwest into Kotzebue Sound. It is about 18 kilometers (11 miles) south of the town of Kotzebue.
How Cape Blossom Got Its Name
This important landform was named in 1826. A captain from the Royal Navy, Frederick William Beechey, explored this area. He decided to name the cape after his ship, HMS Blossom.
