Capri Aliyah Everitt (born August 30, 2004) is a Canadian singer and activist for children. She is famous for earning a Guinness World Record. This record was for "most national anthems sung in their host countries in one year." Capri sang national anthems in 80 countries between 2015 and 2016. She was only eleven years old when her amazing tour ended. She sang each country's anthem in its own language. This meant she sang in 41 different languages! The main goal of her tour was to collect money and spread awareness for children who are orphaned or abandoned. All the money raised went to SOS Children's Villages. A full movie called Around the World in 80 Anthems was made about her journey.

About Capri's Journey

Capri Aliyah Everitt was born on August 30, 2004, in Canada. She started singing and playing the piano when she was five years old. Capri's family loved the Guinness Book of World Records. Capri was inspired by a book called The World Needs Your Kid. She decided she wanted to sing as many anthems around the world as possible. Her goal was to help orphaned and abandoned children.

The Big Idea

Capri wanted to raise money for SOS Children's Villages. This organization helps children in need. All the donations from her tour went to them. To pay for the trip, her parents sold their cars. They also rented out their home. Some sponsors, like Eurail and Flight Centre, helped with plane and train tickets. The tour was named "Around the World in 80 Anthems." This name was a fun play on the famous book Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne.

The World Tour

Capri's journey began in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on November 19, 2015. She then traveled to 80 countries in about nine months. In each country, she sang its national anthem in its own language. She sang in a total of 41 different languages during her tour. Her last stop was on August 12, 2016.

Capri traveled with her family and her nine-year-old brother, Bowen. Her final performance was in the United States. She sang at a Washington Nationals baseball game. At every stop, she sang the country's full national anthem in its native language. Even though she sang in 80 countries, only 76 counted for the Guinness World Record. This is because Guinness rules only count anthems of countries that are members of the United Nations.

Capri's Other Achievements

Capri is also a speaker at TEDx events. She has given three TEDx Talks. These include talks at TEDx Chilliwack, British Columbia, and TEDx Surrey, British Columbia. She also spoke at the largest TEDx event in Asia.

Continuing to Help Others

After her tour, Capri started school in Vancouver. She has also been a speaker at WE Day events. These events celebrate young people making a difference. She spoke at WE Day in Vancouver and Winnipeg. Capri continues to raise money for children in need.

Her family decided to create a book and a documentary about their amazing trip. This was to raise even more money for SOS Children's Villages. A short film, Anthems: A Journey Around the World, won five awards. It was also chosen for 10 international film festivals. A longer movie, Around the World in 80 Anthems, also won four awards. It was shown at nine international festivals.

Singing for Soccer

Recently, Capri made history at a girls' soccer tournament in Dallas, Texas. She was the first singer ever to perform all 12 national anthems for an international girls' soccer tournament. This tournament is one of the biggest for girls' soccer in North America. It had over 135 teams and more than 4,000 girls from all over the world. Capri raised over US$2,000 during the tournament. She chose not to take a personal fee. All the money went to her chosen charity, SOS Children's Villages International.

Her Own Music

Capri is also a talented songwriter. She has released four singles of her own music. These songs are "New York in My Mind," "Girl Stand Up," "Push," and "Butterflies."
