Capri Aliyah Everitt was born on August 30, 2004. She is a Canadian singer and a young activist for children. Capri is famous for earning a Guinness World Record. This record was for "most national anthems sung in their host countries in one year."

Between 2015 and 2016, Capri sang national anthems in 80 countries. She was just eleven years old when her amazing tour ended. For the record, 76 of these countries counted. Capri sang each country's anthem in its own language. She learned to sing in 41 different languages! The main goal of her tour was to help orphaned and abandoned children. All the money raised went to SOS Children's Villages. A movie called Around the World in 80 Anthems was made about her journey.

Capri's Amazing Journey

Capri Aliyah Everitt grew up in Canada. She started singing and playing piano when she was five. Her family loved the Guinness Book of World Records. Capri was inspired by a book called The World Needs Your Kid. She decided she wanted to sing anthems around the world. Her goal was to raise money and awareness for children who needed help.

Helping Children Around the World

Capri chose to raise money for SOS Children's Villages. This organization helps orphaned and abandoned children. All the donations from her tour went directly to them. To pay for the trip, Capri's parents sold their cars. They also rented out their home. Some sponsors, like Eurail and Flight Centre, helped with plane and train tickets. The tour was named "Around the World in 80 Anthems." This name was a fun nod to the famous book Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne.

Singing Across Continents

Capri's journey began in Ottawa, Ontario, on November 19, 2015. She then traveled to 80 countries in about nine months. In each country, she sang the national anthem in its native language. She learned 41 different languages for her songs. Her incredible tour finished on August 12, 2016.

Capri earned a Guinness World Record for her achievement. She traveled with her family and her younger brother, Bowen. Her final stop was in the United States. There, she sang at a Washington Nationals baseball game. Even though she sang in 80 countries, only 76 counted for the Guinness record. This is because Guinness rules only count anthems from United Nations member states.

Sharing Her Story

Capri has been a speaker and singer at three TEDx events. These are special talks where people share ideas. She spoke at TEDx Chilliwack, British Columbia, and TEDx Surrey, British Columbia. One of her talks was at the largest TEDx event in Asia.

After her tour, Capri started attending school in Vancouver. She has also spoken at WE Day events. These events inspire young people to make a difference. Capri continues to raise money for children. Her family created a book and a documentary about their adventure. This helps raise even more money for SOS Children's Villages.

A short film about her journey, Anthems: A Journey Around the World, has won five awards. It was also chosen for 10 international film festivals. A longer movie, Around the World in 80 Anthems, also received four awards. It was shown at nine international festivals.

Capri's Latest Achievements

Recently, Capri made history at a girls' soccer tournament in Dallas, Texas. She became the first singer to perform all 12 national anthems for the international teams. This tournament is one of the biggest for girls' soccer in North America. It had over 135 teams and more than 4,000 girls. Capri raised over US$2,000 during the tournament. She chose not to take any money for herself. Instead, all the money went to her chosen charity, SOS Children's Villages International.

Capri is also a talented songwriter. She has released four singles. These songs are "New York in My Mind," "Girl Stand Up," "Push," and "Butterflies."
