Caquetá Department is a special part of Colombia, located in the southern part of the country. It's like a big state or province. Caquetá is found in the amazing Amazon region, which is famous for its huge rainforests and incredible wildlife.
This department shares its borders with several other departments. To the west, it's next to Cauca and Huila. To the north, you'll find Meta. The department of Guaviare is to the northeast, and Vaupés is to the east. Finally, to the south, Caquetá borders Amazonas and Putumayo.
Caquetá is very large, covering an area of 88,965 square kilometers. That's a lot of land! The main city and capital of Caquetá is Florencia. In 2013, about 465,477 people called Caquetá their home.
