Cara Jayne Readle was born in Swansea. Her mother, Karen, is Welsh, and her father is English. Cara grew up in the Mumbles area of Swansea. She has a condition called cerebral palsy, which affects movement and coordination.
Acting Career and Roles
Cara Readle began her acting career in 2003. She has played characters with cerebral palsy in some of her roles. These include her parts in Zig Zag Love and The Story of Tracy Beaker.
In November 2009, Cara also appeared in the TV show Casualty. She played a patient named Serena Wark, who also had cerebral palsy. Serena's sister, Shona Wark, played by Evelyn Hoskins, appeared in the show multiple times. However, Serena herself did not return to the series.
Cara has worked with BBC Ouch! This is a BBC project where people share their experiences about living with disabilities.
From 2011, Cara starred in the BBC Wales series Baker Boys. She played Elen, who was the daughter of Sarah, a character played by Eve Myles. In 2014, she was featured in an episode of the Sky One drama The Smoke. In this show, she acted alongside Jodie Whittaker, playing a receptionist. More recently, from 2021 to 2023, Cara featured in the CBeebies show Biff & Chip as the character Sam.
