Eve Myles (born on July 26, 1978) is a talented actress from Wales. She is famous for her roles in many TV shows. You might know her as Ceri Lewis in Belonging, Gwen Cooper in the exciting science-fiction series Torchwood, or Faith Howells in the drama Keeping Faith.
Eve Myles studied acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. She started her acting career in 2000. Since then, she has appeared in many popular shows and plays.

Early Life and Education
Eve Myles was born in Ystradgynlais, Wales. Her father is from Scotland. She went to Ysgol Maes Y Dderwen, where she learned some basic Welsh phrases. She loved boxing when she was younger, but she stopped after hurting her hand. In 2000, she earned a degree in acting from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff. After finishing her studies, she moved to London.

Early TV Roles
In 2000, Eve Myles began playing Ceri Owen in the BBC Wales show Belonging. This was one of her longest roles, lasting until 2009. She also appeared in the TV miniseries Tales from Pleasure Beach in 2001. In 2005, she was in the TV drama Colditz.
Joining the Doctor Who Universe
In 2005, Eve Myles had a guest role in Doctor Who. She played a servant girl named Gwyneth in an episode called "The Unquiet Dead". The main writer for Doctor Who, Russell T Davies, was very impressed with her acting. He decided to create a new show called Torchwood just for her!
Starring in Torchwood
In Torchwood, Eve Myles played the main character, Gwen Cooper. Gwen is a police officer who joins a secret team that investigates alien threats. Eve Myles described Gwen as the "social worker" of the team, someone who is strong and can fight for herself. She appeared in every episode of Torchwood from 2006 to 2011. Her role as Gwen Cooper won her a Bafta Cymru award for Best Actress in 2007. She even appeared in Doctor Who again as Gwen Cooper in 2008.

Merlin and Little Dorrit
In 2008, she appeared in the first episode of the fantasy drama Merlin. She played two characters: Lady Helen and a witch named Mary Collins. Her performance was highly praised. She also played Maggy Plornish in the 2008 TV series Little Dorrit, which won several awards.
Frankie and Victoria
In 2013, Eve Myles took on the main role in the BBC1 drama Frankie. She played Frankie Maddox, a district nurse who cares deeply for her patients. In 2016, she played Mrs. Jenkins, Queen Victoria's personal dresser, in the ITV period drama Victoria.
Keeping Faith
One of her most famous recent roles is Faith Howells in the Welsh drama Un Bore Mercher. This show was filmed in both Welsh and English. It was later shown on BBC One as Keeping Faith. Eve Myles learned to speak Welsh for this role! She played a lawyer whose husband disappears. The show was very popular.
Theatre Work
Eve Myles is also a talented theatre actress. In 2004, she won an Ian Charleson Award for her performances in two Royal Shakespeare Company plays: Titus Andronicus and The Taming of the Shrew. She also performed in Henry IV, Part 1 and Henry IV, Part 2 at the Royal National Theatre in 2005. In 2012, she starred in the play All New People in London.
Voice Acting
Eve Myles has also lent her voice to video games. In 2011, she voiced the character Merrill, a Dalish elf, in the video game Dragon Age II.

BAFTA Cymru Awards

Other Awards
In 2010, Eve Myles won the Best Actress award in the SFX Reader's poll. She was also nominated for a Satellite Awards for her role in Torchwood: Miracle Day. In 2010, she was honored with a special fellowship from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, where she studied.
Personal Life
Eve Myles met her husband, Bradley Freegard, in 1994. They got married in Italy in 2013 and have three daughters. After learning Welsh for her role in Keeping Faith, she now speaks Welsh with her daughters at home.
When she filmed Torchwood's fourth series in 2011, Eve and her family moved to the Hollywood Hills in America. She loved living in California and called it the "land of dreams."
