Eve Myles is a talented Welsh actress born on July 26, 1978. She is well-known for her exciting roles in popular TV shows. Many people recognize her as Gwen Cooper in the science-fiction series Torchwood. She also played Faith Howells in the drama Keeping Faith.
Eve Myles studied acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. She graduated in 2000. Soon after, she started her acting career.

Becoming a Star: Early Roles and Doctor Who
Eve Myles began her TV journey in the drama series Belonging. She played the character Ceri Lewis from 2000 to 2009. This was one of her longest roles.
In 2005, she appeared in the popular show Doctor Who. She played a servant girl named Gwyneth in an episode called "The Unquiet Dead". This role caught the attention of the show's writer, Russell T Davies.
Joining the Torchwood Team
Because of her great performance in Doctor Who, Russell T Davies created a special role just for her. This was Gwen Cooper in the Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood. Eve Myles played Gwen Cooper for four seasons, from 2006 to 2011. Gwen Cooper was a brave and strong character. She was like the "social worker" of the Torchwood team. For her work in Torchwood, Eve won a BAFTA Cymru award for Best Actress in 2007. She even returned to Doctor Who for its fourth series finale as Gwen Cooper.

After Torchwood, Eve Myles continued to appear in many different TV shows.
Historical Dramas and Crime Series
In 2008, she was in the miniseries Little Dorrit. She also appeared in the first episode of the fantasy drama Merlin. In Merlin, she played two characters: Lady Helen and a witch named Mary Collins. Her acting in this role was highly praised.
She took on the main role in the 2013 drama series Frankie. Here, she played a kind district nurse named Frankie Maddox. In 2014, she joined the cast of the crime drama Broadchurch for its second series. She played Claire Ripley.
Eve Myles also appeared in the historical drama Victoria in 2016. She played Mrs. Jenkins, Queen Victoria's personal dresser.
Keeping Faith and Recent Work
From 2017 to 2020, Eve Myles starred in the Welsh drama Keeping Faith (also known as Un Bore Mercher). She played Faith Howells, a solicitor whose husband disappears. She even learned to speak Welsh for this role! The show was very popular.
In 2018, she had a role in the BBC drama A Very English Scandal. More recently, she has starred as DS Lola Franks in We Hunt Together (2020–2022). In 2023, she had a main role in the thriller series Hijack. She is also set to appear in The Crow Girl in 2025.
Stage and Voice Acting
Besides TV, Eve Myles is also a talented theatre actress. In 2004, she won an Ian Charleson Award for her performances in plays like Titus Andronicus and The Taming of the Shrew. She has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and at the Royal National Theatre.
She has also lent her voice to video games. In 2011, she voiced the character Merrill in the video game Dragon Age II.
Personal Life
Eve Myles met her husband, Bradley Freegard, in 1994. They got married in Italy in 2013. They have three daughters together. After learning Welsh for her role in Keeping Faith, she now speaks conversational Welsh with her children.
