Carina Witthöft (born 16 February 1995) is a German former professional tennis player. She was known for her powerful right-handed game. Carina achieved her highest singles ranking of world No. 48 in January 2018.
She won one singles title on the WTA Tour. She also earned eleven singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Women's Circuit.

Carina's Tennis Journey
Carina Witthöft started her professional tennis career on the WTA Tour in 2012. Her first big event was the 2012 Swedish Open. She played well in the qualifying rounds, winning three matches. However, she lost in the first main draw match.
First Big Win
A major highlight of her career was winning her first WTA title. This happened at the 2017 Luxembourg Open. She played against Monica Puig in the final match. Carina won the match in two sets, which means she won without needing a third set.
Carina was coached by Torben Beltz for some time. Later, Philip Lang became her coach.
Playing in 2018
The 2018 season started for Carina at the Brisbane International. She lost her first match there. She then played in the Sydney International. Even though she lost in the final qualifying round, she got into the main competition as a "lucky loser." A lucky loser is a player who lost in qualifying but gets to play because another player pulled out. She lost her first match in Sydney to Australian player Sam Stosur.
