History of Carl
How Carl Got Its Name
The community of Carl has an interesting story behind its name. A post office was opened here in 1907. This post office was very important for sending and receiving mail.
The people who lived there decided to name the community after the child of the local postmaster. A postmaster is the person in charge of a post office. So, Carl was named after a child! The post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1952.
