Carlik Anthony Jones, born on December 23, 1997, is a professional basketball player. He was born in America but also plays for the South Sudan national team. Carlik is a point guard for KK Partizan Belgrade. This team plays in several leagues, including the Basketball League of Serbia (KLS), the ABA League, and the EuroLeague. Before becoming a professional, he played college basketball for the Radford Highlanders and the Louisville Cardinals.
Carlik Jones also represents the South Sudan national team. He joined them just before the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Carlik Jones grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He went to Aiken High School. During his junior year, he averaged 12.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game. He was named third team All-Division IV for his great performance.
On November 12, 2015, Carlik decided to play college basketball for Radford. In his senior year, he was amazing, averaging 22.3 points and six assists. The Cincinnati Enquirer named him Division IV Player of the Year. He even scored 57 points in one game! He helped his team, the Falcons, win a regional championship and reach the State final four.
College Basketball Journey
Carlik Jones took a "redshirt" year when he first started college. This means he practiced with the team but didn't play in games. It allowed him to get stronger and learn more. The next year, he became a starter for the Radford Highlanders. He was named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Year. He averaged 11.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.
In a thrilling game, he made a three-pointer with only two seconds left against Liberty. This shot sent Radford to the NCAA Tournament! In his second year playing, he was named first team All-Big South. He averaged 15.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists.
Carlik was chosen as the Big South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year in his third year. He was again named first team All-Big South. He averaged 20 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. After graduating from Radford, he decided to transfer to another school. This was allowed because he had already graduated.
He chose the University of Louisville for his final year of college basketball. He played in 19 games for the Louisville Cardinals. After the season, he thought about joining the NBA Draft. He could have played another year in college because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he decided to sign with an agent and go professional instead.
Professional Basketball Career
Starting with the Texas Legends
Carlik Jones was not chosen in the 2021 NBA draft. But he still joined the Dallas Mavericks for the NBA Summer League. On August 21, 2021, he signed with the Mavericks. However, they later waived him on October 15. On October 23, he joined the Texas Legends as an affiliate player. In 10 games, he averaged 20.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.7 assists.
Playing for NBA Teams
On December 23, 2021, Carlik signed a 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks. He played in 3 games for Dallas. He averaged 1 rebound and 1.7 assists in about 6 minutes per game.
After his contract with Dallas ended, he signed another 10-day contract. This time, it was with the Denver Nuggets on January 1, 2022.
Back to the G League
On January 11, 2022, Carlik Jones returned to the Texas Legends. Later, on September 26, 2022, he signed with the Chicago Bulls. On October 23, 2022, he joined the Windy City Bulls. This team is part of the NBA G-League, which is like a development league for the NBA.
Time with the Chicago Bulls
On December 16, 2022, Carlik signed a "two-way contract" with the Chicago Bulls. This type of contract allows a player to play for both an NBA team and its G-League team. He was chosen for the G League's first-ever Next Up Game for the 2022–23 season. On March 3, 2023, his contract with the Bulls became a standard NBA contract. On April 5, he was named NBA G League Most Valuable Player.
On October 20, 2023, the Bulls waived Carlik Jones. This happened just before the start of the 2023–24 season.

On November 1, 2023, Carlik Jones signed with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls. This team plays in the Chinese Basketball Association.
Joining Partizan
On August 20, 2024, Carlik Jones signed with Partizan Mozzart Bet. This team plays in the ABA League, Basketball League of Serbia (KLS), and the EuroLeague. In 34 EuroLeague games, Carlik averaged 14.1 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.2 rebounds. He shot 46.1% from the field. During the 2024–25 season, Partizan won the ABA League championship. This was their eighth time winning it. They also won the Serbian League championship, which was their first win in 11 seasons.
Playing for South Sudan
Carlik Jones became a naturalized citizen to play for the South Sudan national team. This means he gained citizenship to play for their national team. He joined the team for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. This was the first time South Sudan had ever played in the FIBA World Cup.
In his first FIBA World Cup game against Puerto Rico, he had an amazing performance. He scored 35 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and made six assists. On July 20, 2024, Carlik achieved a "triple-double" in a game before the 2024 Olympics. He scored 15 points, had 11 rebounds, and made 11 assists. This happened in a close game where his team lost 100–101 to the United States. He was the first player ever to get a triple-double against the United States team.
