College Basketball Journey

Carlik Jones took a "redshirt" year when he first started college. This means he practiced with the team but didn't play in games. It allowed him to get stronger and learn more. The next year, he became a starter for the Radford Highlanders. He was named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Year. He averaged 11.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

In a thrilling game, he made a three-pointer with only two seconds left against Liberty. This shot sent Radford to the NCAA Tournament! In his second year playing, he was named first team All-Big South. He averaged 15.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists.

He chose the University of Louisville for his final year of college basketball. He played in 19 games for the Louisville Cardinals. After the season, he thought about joining the NBA Draft. He could have played another year in college because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he decided to sign with an agent and go professional instead.
