Carlos Alberto Dias played for many different teams in Brazil. He started with Sociedade Esportiva Matsubara in 1985. Later, he joined Coritiba from 1988 to 1989. He scored 7 goals in 20 games for them.
From 1990 to 1992, he played for Botafogo. He appeared in 53 games and scored 5 goals. In 1993, he had short stays at Vasco da Gama and Grêmio. At Grêmio, he scored 2 goals in 4 games.
He also played for Paraná in 1994, scoring 5 goals in 15 games. He returned to Paraná in 1996 and again in 1999. Overall, he played 113 league games in Brazil and scored 20 goals.
