Carlos Alberto Souza dos Santos, often called Santos, was a talented Brazilian football player. He was born on December 9, 1960. After a great career playing football, he became a manager (coach) for different teams.

Santos played nearly 200 games in Brazil's top football league, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. He played for famous clubs like Goiás and Botafogo.

Playing in Japan

In 1992, Santos moved to Japan to play for Kashima Antlers. This was a big step in his career.

Success with Kashima Antlers

In 1993, Santos was a key player for Kashima Antlers. He helped them win the first stage of the J1 League championship. Because of his amazing performance, he was chosen for the 1993 J.League Team of the Year. This award goes to the best players in the league.

Time with Shimizu S-Pulse

After leaving Kashima Antlers in 1995, Santos joined Shimizu S-Pulse. He played there for five and a half years.

Winning the J.League Cup

In 1996, Santos helped Shimizu S-Pulse win the J.League Cup. This is a major tournament in Japanese football. For his excellent play, he was named the J. League Cup MVP (Most Valuable Player). This means he was considered the best player in the entire tournament!
