Carlos Héctor Campos Silva (born February 14, 1937 – died November 11, 2020) was a famous Chilean footballer. He was often called "El Tanque" (The Tank) because of his powerful playing style. Campos was a talented striker who scored many goals during his career. He is remembered as one of the greatest players for Universidad de Chile.

Carlos Campos spent his entire professional career playing for Universidad de Chile. He joined the club's youth teams in 1948 when he was just 11 years old. He played for the senior team from 1956 to 1969.

During his time at Universidad de Chile, Campos was an amazing goal scorer. He scored 184 goals in 259 games for the club. This made him one of the top scorers in the club's history. He helped his team win many championships.

Representing Chile

Campos also played for the Chile national team. He represented his country from 1960 to 1967. He played in 39 matches for Chile and scored 18 goals.

He was part of the Chilean squad for two FIFA World Cups. He played in the 1962 FIFA World Cup and the 1966 FIFA World Cup. Playing in the World Cup is a huge honor for any footballer.
