Carmen Moore has a mixed heritage. Part of her family is from the Wet'suwet'en First Nation. She is officially part of the Hagwilget Village First Nation. This community is located in Hazelton, British Columbia.
Carmen was born in Burnaby, British Columbia. She grew up in Coquitlam, British Columbia. She went to Port Moody Senior Secondary School. In 1991, she joined the Spirit Song Native Theatre Co. She worked with them for nine months. Her first professional acting job was in 1992. She toured with Theatre New Brunswick's Young Company. She received great reviews for her performance.
In 1993, Carmen was nominated for a Jessie Richardson Theatre Award. This was for her role in Fend Players' Danceland. She kept working in theatre. She also auditioned for TV shows and movies. She was nominated for another Jessie Award for Best Actress. This was for her work in Someday at the Firehall Arts Centre.
Carmen Moore's Acting Career
From 2011 to 2015, Carmen Moore starred in the APTN show Blackstone. She played the lead role of Leona Stoney. For this role, she won three Leo Awards. These awards were for Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series. She won in 2011, 2014, and 2016.
She was also nominated for a Gemini Award in 2011. In 2016, she was nominated for a UBCP/ACTRA Award for Blackstone. She also received a Canadian Screen Award nomination in 2017.
From 2012 to 2014, she played Loreen Cassway. This was on the CBC series Arctic Air. She was nominated for Best Supporting Performance for this role in 2012.
In 2021, Carmen Moore received another Canadian Screen Award nomination. This was for Best Actress. It was for her performance in the movie Rustic Oracle. Also in 2021, she had a recurring role. She played Kristen Kramer on The Flash.
