The story of Unnatural & Accidental follows a First Nations woman named Rebecca. Rebecca, played by Carmen Moore, goes back to her home city of Vancouver. She returns to be with her father, who is very ill.

Rebecca also starts a search for her mother, Rita Jones, played by Tantoo Cardinal. Her mother has been missing for many years. Rebecca's journey helps her learn about the difficult challenges faced by many Indigenous women. She tries to understand what happened to her mother and others.
