Carntierna is a very old and important place in County Cork, Ireland. It is a special type of ancient fort known as a ringfort. Because of its historical value, Carntierna is also protected as a National Monument. This means it is a site of great importance to Ireland's history.

Carntierna is found in a beautiful spot on top of Corrin Hill. This hill is part of the Nagle Mountains in County Cork. You can find it about 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles) south of the town of Fermoy.

Carntierna was built a very long time ago, between 500 BC and AD 500. This period is known as Ireland's Iron Age. During the Iron Age, people started using iron to make tools and weapons. Carntierna is one of only three "hillforts" in the northern part of County Cork.
