Carola Bauckholt (born August 21, 1959) is a German composer. A composer is someone who writes music. She was born in Krefeld, which was then in West Germany.
Carola Bauckholt started her music journey working at the Marienplatz Theater in Krefeld. Later, from 1978 to 1984, she studied music with a famous teacher named Mauricio Kagel at the Cologne College of Music and Dance.
In 1985, Carola Bauckholt helped start a company called Thürmchen Verlag in Cologne. This company publishes experimental music. Experimental music often tries new sounds and ideas. In 1991, she also helped create the Thürmchen ensemble, which is a group of musicians who play this kind of music.
She also received scholarships to study at different places. These included the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart (1990-1991), the Schreyahn Artists' Colony in Lower Saxony (1992), and the Villa Massimo in Rome (1997). These opportunities helped her develop her skills and meet other artists.
