Carolyn Reeder facts for kids
Carolyn Reeder (born November 16, 1937 – died January 20, 2012) was an American writer. She was famous for her historical novels for children. She also wrote non-fiction books about Shenandoah National Park with her husband. Carolyn Reeder won a special prize called the Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction. Near the end of her life, she wrote a newspaper column for kids called KidsPost in The Washington Post. This column was about the history of the American Civil War.

Carolyn Bruce Owens was born in Washington, D.C.. She went to American University and studied music, focusing on organ and voice. She finished her degree in 1959. Carolyn lived in Glen Echo, Maryland. She passed away in a Washington hospital.
