This mall is huge, covering about 115,478 m2 (1,242,990 sq ft)! It's the biggest enclosed shopping centre in the Montreal area. What's cool is that it's also Quebec's largest mall that's all on one floor.
Carrefour Laval is one of four big fashion malls in the Montreal area managed by a company called Cadillac Fairview. The others are Fairview Pointe-Claire, Les Promenades Saint-Bruno, and Les Galeries d'Anjou.

Awesome Stores to Explore
This mall has three main "anchor stores." These are big, well-known stores that usually attract lots of shoppers. The anchor stores here are Hudson's Bay, Simons, and Rona. There's also an empty space where Sears used to be.
Besides these big stores, Carrefour Laval has over 300 other shops, boutiques, and restaurants. It's known as a place where many international brands open their first store in Quebec. This means you can often find new and exciting shops here before they appear anywhere else in the province!
Some famous American stores that first opened in Quebec at Carrefour Laval include Apple Store, Bath & Body Works, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Crate and Barrel, Victoria's Secret, Williams Sonoma, and Coach New York. Other international stores that started here are Armani Exchange, Le Creuset, and the Lego Store.
Did you know that Rona L'Entrepôt, a major Canadian hardware store, opened its very first store at Carrefour Laval on June 30, 1994?
A Look Back: Carrefour Laval's History
Building a Big Mall (1969-1973)
The idea for Carrefour Laval was first announced on February 27, 1969. Two companies, Steinberg's and Eaton's, planned to build a mall with 150 stores. It was going to be on a huge piece of land next to the Laurentian Expressway. The city of Laval had to build roads and other important things for the mall to be built.
There were some changes to the original plans. At first, the project faced challenges because of local rules about where new malls could be built. Eventually, other companies like Morgan's and Simpson's joined the group planning the mall. However, Morgan's later decided to open a store at a different mall nearby called Centre Laval.
