Carsonville is a small village in Sanilac County, which is part of the U.S. state of Michigan. In 2010, about 527 people lived there. The village is located at 43°25′37″N 82°40′17″W / 43.42694°N 82.67139°W. It sits right on the border between two areas called Bridgehampton Township and Washington Township. This means about half of the village is in one, and half is in the other!

History of Carsonville
Carsonville started in 1853. That's when Silas C. Hall opened the first store there. He also became the first postmaster in 1857, meaning he ran the local post office. Because of him, the place was first called Hall's Corners.
Later, in 1884, the village was renamed. It got its new name from a local businessman named Arthur Carson. He had built his first store in the area in 1864. Carsonville officially became a village in 1887.
Geography of the Village
Carsonville covers a total area of about 1.13 square miles (2.93 square kilometers). All of this area is land. There are no large bodies of water like lakes or rivers within the village limits.

Carsonville's Population in 2010
According to the 2010 census, there were 527 people living in Carsonville. These people lived in 195 different homes, and 134 of those were families. The village had about 466 people per square mile (180 people per square kilometer). There were 224 housing units in total.
Most of the people in Carsonville were White (94.7%). A small number were from other groups, including African American, Native American, and Asian. About 4.7% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino.
Out of the 195 homes, 40% had children under 18 living there. Nearly half (46.7%) were married couples. About 31.3% of homes were not families. Also, 24.1% of all homes had just one person living there. About 10.8% of homes had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older.
The average age of people in the village was 35.6 years. About 28.7% of residents were under 18. About 9.6% were between 18 and 24 years old. People aged 25 to 44 made up 24.1% of the population. Those aged 45 to 64 were 27.4%. Finally, 10.2% of residents were 65 years or older. There were slightly more females (53.7%) than males (46.3%) in the village.

The Carsonville-Port Sanilac Schools district serves the village.
- The combined high school and middle school are located off M-46, just east of Carsonville.
- The elementary school is right within the village limits, also on M-46 (Chandler Street).
Getting Around Carsonville
- Roads: M-46 is a main road that goes through Carsonville, running east and west.
- Trains: A local freight train service is provided by the shortline Huron and Eastern Railway (HESR). This railway helps move goods to and from the area.
