Cartersburg is a small place in Indiana, United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it does not have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it is part of Liberty Township in Hendricks County.

History

Cartersburg started in 1850. This was when a railroad was built through the area. The community was named after its founder, a man named John Carter. Cartersburg even had its own post office for a long time, from 1852 until 1992.

Geography

Cartersburg is found between two other places, Clayton and Plainfield. It's a quiet community with a local church. There's also a small playground for kids to enjoy.

Near Cartersburg, there used to be special springs called the Cartersburg Springs. They were also known as the Magnetic Springs. Today, water no longer flows at this site.
