The Cartoon Network Hotel is a super fun hotel in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It's a special place where you can stay inside the world of your favorite Cartoon Network shows!

This hotel is run by Palace Entertainment. They also own the Dutch Wonderland amusement park, which is right across the street. The hotel uses the Cartoon Network name with permission from Warner Bros., who owns Cartoon Network. This was the second time Cartoon Network opened a hotel experience. The first was a themed area in a hotel in Taiwan. It was also one of the first times a kids' cartoon channel (besides Disney) opened a themed hotel in the US.

The Cartoon Network Hotel officially opened its doors on January 10, 2020. It has 165 newly designed hotel rooms. Guests can enjoy a cool resort-style pool and a special kids' play area. There's also an indoor arcade for games and a gift shop. You can find lots of Cartoon Network stuff there!

History of the Hotel

How it Started: Ramada Inn

The building that is now the Cartoon Network Hotel first opened in 1971. It was a regular hotel called a Ramada Inn. The land it was built on belonged to Earl Clark. He was the owner of the nearby Dutch Wonderland park.

However, the hotel faced some money problems early on. In 1974, a family named the Gleibermans bought it.

Becoming the Continental Inn

After buying the hotel, the Gleiberman family changed its name. They called it the Continental Inn. This hotel had 165 rooms, just like today. It also had a tennis court and an outdoor pool. There was a splash area for kids and free breakfast.

The Continental Inn also had an indoor pool and a game room. These were in a separate building called the "Pool House." There was even a fitness room. The Gleiberman family ran the hotel until January 2018. That's when Palace Entertainment bought it for $4.7 million. Palace Entertainment wanted to turn it into a fun family resort.

Announcing the New Hotel

In October 2018, exciting news came out! Cartoon Network and Palace Entertainment announced a partnership. They planned to change the old Continental Inn into the very first Cartoon Network Hotel. Everyone hoped it would open in Summer 2019.

But the hotel was still being built, so it didn't open then. In March 2019, Warner Bros. became the new owners of Cartoon Network. Even with this change, the new hotel kept its Cartoon Network theme. In November 2019, Palace Entertainment said the opening date moved to Summer 2020. Soon after, they changed the date again to January 10, 2020.

Hotel Makeover

During the time the hotel was being built, many parts were updated. The elevators and inside areas were completely redone. The outside of the hotel also got a big makeover.

These changes made the hotel feel more like a Cartoon Network world. Guests had more cool things to see and do. The whole hotel was designed to match the fun Cartoon Network theme.
