Casey Yu-jin Phair (Korean: 케이시 유진 페어; born June 29, 2007) is a talented soccer player from South Korea. She plays as a striker (a player who scores goals) for National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) club Angel City FC. She also plays for the South Korea national team.
Casey made history at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. She was the youngest player ever to play in the tournament! She was only 16 years and 26 days old when she made her debut.
Casey is also a Korean American. She grew up in New Jersey, United States. She was the first player with mixed heritage to be called up to the South Korea women's national team.

Early Life and Soccer Start
Casey Phair was born in South Korea. Her father is American and her mother is South Korean. When she was just one month old, her family moved to the United States.
She lived in Exeter, New Hampshire, for a while. Later, her family moved to Warren Township, New Jersey. This is where she started playing soccer at the Pingry School. She also trained at the Players Development Academy (PDA) in New Jersey.
Playing for a Club Team
Joining Angel City FC
After her great performance at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, Casey tried out for a few professional teams. On January 18, 2024, Angel City FC announced they had signed Casey Phair. She joined the team with a special rule for young players called the NWSL Under-18 Entry Mechanism.
Casey is the youngest player ever to sign with Angel City FC. She played her first game for the team on July 26, 2024. She came into the game as a substitute in the 66th minute.
Playing for Her Country
Casey Phair first played for the South Korea under-17 team. She helped them get ready for the 2024 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup. She scored two goals against Tajikistan and three goals against Hong Kong.
Making History at the World Cup
In 2023, Casey was called up to the senior team for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. She became the youngest player ever to play in a senior World Cup. This includes both men's and women's tournaments! She was only 16 years and 26 days old. She played her first World Cup game on July 25, 2023, against Colombia.
Casey played in all three of South Korea's games in the group stage. She even started her first game against Germany. That game ended in a 1–1 tie.
First Goals for South Korea
On October 26, 2023, Casey scored her first goals for the senior national team. She scored three goals in one game, which is called a hat-trick! This happened in a 10–1 win against Thailand. She was 16 years and 119 days old. This made her the second youngest goal scorer in South Korean women's national team history. She also became the youngest player to score a hat-trick for any South Korean national team.
On October 10, 2024, Casey was again chosen to play for the South Korea under-17 team. This time, it was for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
