Cassandra is a small town, called a borough, in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. In 2010, about 147 people lived there. It is part of the larger Johnstown, Pennsylvania area.

Where is Cassandra?
Cassandra is in the eastern part of Cambria County. It sits in the valley of the Little Conemaugh River. You can find it at these coordinates: 40°24′32″N 78°38′28″W / 40.40889°N 78.64111°W.
Pennsylvania Route 53 runs just south of the town. This road goes northeast about 5 miles to Cresson. It also goes southwest about 3 miles to Portage.
Ebensburg, which is the main town for the county, is 11 miles northwest. Altoona is 23 miles northeast. Johnstown is 23 miles southwest.
The United States Census Bureau says Cassandra covers about 0.2 square kilometers (0.08 square miles). All of this area is land.

Sewer System
The Central Mainline Sewer Authority handles the sewage treatment in Cassandra. A special event was held on August 21, 2006, to celebrate its opening. This system cost $10 million to build and took 14 years to finish.
The Central Mainline system serves over 2,000 customers. It is named after the "Mainline" of the old Pennsylvania Railroad. This railway used to go through five towns in the area. Today, this railway is part of the Norfolk Southern system.
Transportation and Trains
The Norfolk Southern railway still uses the old Pennsylvania Railroad line. This line runs between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg.
There is a special spot called the Cassandra Overlook Bridge. This bridge is a great place for people who love trains to watch them go by. It is an old, single-lane iron bridge just for walking. It used to be next to the bridge that carried State Route 53 traffic.
The current Route 53 road was built in 1936. Train fans are always welcome at the overlook. There is even a small hotel in town, the Cassandra Railroad Overlook Motel, that welcomes visitors and train watchers.
Cassandra does not have any traffic lights. Only two streets run through the town. Main Street ends at both sides, so it's a dead-end. Portage Street connects State Route 53 to Main Street.
