High School Basketball Journey
Cassius Stanley started his high school basketball career at Harvard-Westlake School in Studio City, California. During his second year, he was a strong player. He scored about 17.9 points, grabbed 6.8 rebounds, and made 3.5 assists per game.
In 2017, Stanley moved to Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California. He played his last two years of high school basketball there. In his final year, he continued to play well. He averaged 17.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He helped lead the Sierra Canyon team to a great record of 32 wins and only 3 losses.
College Career at Duke
Cassius Stanley decided to play college basketball for Duke University. He joined the Duke Blue Devils team.
First Game and Injury
In his very first college game, Stanley scored 13 points. This helped Duke win against Kansas with a score of 68–66. Later, on November 29, he hurt his leg during a game against Winthrop. Doctors thought he would be out for a long time.
Quick Comeback
But Cassius worked hard on his recovery and physical therapy. His leg got better much faster than expected. He only missed one game before returning to play against Virginia Tech.
Key College Games
On January 4, Stanley had a fantastic game. He scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds. Duke won that game against Miami 95–62. On February 8, he scored 22 points and had six rebounds. This helped Duke win a close overtime game against their rival, North Carolina, with a score of 98–96.
College Achievements
At the end of his first college season, Stanley was recognized for his great play. He was chosen for the ACC All-Freshman Team. This team includes the best first-year players in the Atlantic Coast Conference. He averaged 12.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. He shot 47 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range. After this successful season, he decided to enter the 2020 NBA draft to become a professional player.

Time with Indiana Pacers and Fort Wayne Mad Ants (2020–2021)
On November 18, 2020, Cassius Stanley was chosen in the second round of the 2020 NBA draft. The Indiana Pacers picked him as the 54th player overall. The Pacers signed him to a special "two-way contract." This meant he could play for both the Pacers in the NBA and their minor league team, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, in the NBA G League. In 2021, he even took part in the Slam Dunk Contest, showing off his amazing jumping skills.
Playing for Detroit Pistons and Motor City Cruise (2021–2022)
On September 28, 2021, Stanley signed with the Detroit Pistons. However, he was later released by the Pistons on October 16, 2021. He then joined the Motor City Cruise, which is the Pistons' G League team. With the Cruise, he averaged 9.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He signed a few short 10-day contracts with the Detroit Pistons in late 2021 and early 2022. This allowed him to play some games in the NBA.
Joining the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2022–2023)
On November 3, 2022, Cassius Stanley was added to the team roster for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. This is another team in the NBA G League.
Playing Overseas: Hapoel Afula (2023–2024)
On September 21, 2023, Stanley moved to play basketball in Israel. He signed with Hapoel Afula, a team in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
