Catalina Maya Arango, known as Catalina Maya, is a famous Colombian model, TV host, and businesswoman. She was born on July 28, 1980, in Betulia, Colombia.

Growing Up and School
Catalina grew up in Medellín, Colombia. She went to San José de Las Vegas school there. Later, she studied Social Communication and Journalism at the Pontifical Bolivarian University. She studied from 1998 to 2004. In 2000, she worked for a semester at the press office in Casa de Nariño. This is the official home of the Colombian president.
Catalina's Career
Becoming a Model
Catalina started modeling when she was just thirteen years old. She went with a friend to a casting agency in Medellín. The people there invited Catalina to try out too. She was chosen for a campaign for a big store called Almacenes Éxito.
After that first job, Catalina started getting many offers. She modeled for TV commercials and different brands. She worked in Colombia and other countries. Many people in Colombia remember her photos. They were on the covers of student notebooks in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Throughout her career, Catalina has appeared in over 300 campaigns.
Working in TV and Radio
Catalina has also worked in television and radio. In 2004, she worked at W Radio (Colombia). She returned to W Radio in 2012. She hosted a show called La Hora del Regreso (The Comeback Time).
When she was seventeen, Catalina often did special reports for Caracol Radio. She also had small acting roles in TV shows. One show was a soap opera called Padres e Hijos (Parents and Children). In early 2019, she was on a show called The agency: Battle of the models. On this show, she led one of the teams of models. Since August 2019, she has been a guest on the morning show Despierta America. This show is on the Univision Network. She appears weekly on a part of the show called Sin Rollo (Without Issue).
Being a YouTuber
In October 2019, Catalina started her own YouTube channel. It is called ‘Bueno, Bonito y barato’ (Good, Nice and Cheap). On her channel, she shares helpful tips and tricks. These tips are about beauty, cleaning, and more.
Business Ventures
Catalina Maya also hosts a design fair several times a year. It is called "Los Bazares de Catalina Maya." This fair helps new designers from Latin America show their work.
Personal Life
Catalina is the youngest of three sisters. On March 11, 2005, she married Adrián Fernández. He is a racing car driver. They had two children together. In 2012, they decided to separate. On March 17, 2018, Catalina married businessman Felipe Pimiento. They had been together for four years before getting married.
Catalina paused her modeling career in 2005 to focus on being a mother. She returned to modeling in 2012 when she moved back to Miami.
