Caterina Chiara Bosetti (born February 2, 1994) is a super talented Italian professional volleyball player. She is known for her powerful hits as an "outside hitter." This means she plays a key role in both attacking and defending for her team. Caterina plays for the Italy women's national volleyball team. She has even competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2024 Summer Olympics, where she won a gold medal! She is 1.80 meters (about 5 feet 11 inches) tall.

Caterina's Volleyball Journey

Caterina comes from a family of volleyball stars! Her dad, Giuseppe Bosetti, used to coach Italy's national women's volleyball team. Her mom, Franca Bardelli, played for the national team many times. Caterina was born in Busto Arsizio, Italy. Her sister, Lucia Bosetti, is also a professional volleyball player. It's like volleyball is in their blood!

Caterina has played for many different clubs throughout her career. She started with Amatori Atletica Orago. Later, she joined teams like Villa Cortese, Molico Osasco, and Galatasaray. She also played for Igor Gorgonzola Novara and River Volley Piacenza. Each team helped her grow her skills and become an even better player.

Playing for Italy

Caterina has been a big part of the Italy women's national volleyball team since 2011. She helped her team win a gold medal at the 2011 FIVB Women's World Cup in Japan. This was a huge achievement early in her career!

In 2014, Caterina played in the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. Her team finished in fourth place. She also won a silver medal in the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship with her club team, Molico Osasco.

Recent Successes

Caterina continued to shine in recent years. She helped Italy win gold medals at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League and the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League. These are major international competitions where the best teams from around the world compete.

A truly amazing moment for Caterina was winning the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics with the Italian team. This is one of the highest honors in sports!
