Cedar Grove is a small community found inside Kings Canyon National Park in California. It's a special place because it's one of only two areas in the park with places to stay and things to buy. You can find the Cedar Grove Visitor Center here, along with a lodge, a market, and four campgrounds.

This community is located near the South Fork of the Kings River in Fresno County. The road leading into the canyon usually closes from mid-November to mid-April because of snow.

The famous nature writer John Muir called this area "Deer Park" back in 1891. But by 1902, people started calling it Cedar Grove. This name makes sense because many Incense-cedar trees grow in the canyon. An early hotel was built here in 1897, but it didn't last long. The name Cedar Grove Hotel even appeared on old maps from 1905 to 1924.

Climate in Cedar Grove

Cedar Grove experiences different seasons throughout the year. Summers are generally warm and sunny, perfect for outdoor activities. Winters are cold, and the area receives a good amount of snow. This snow helps keep the rivers and streams full for the rest of the year.
