Celina Jaitly (born on November 24, 1981) is an Indian actress, model, and beauty pageant winner. She is best known for winning the Femina Miss India title in 2001 and for being the 4th runner-up at the Miss Universe 2001 pageant. After her success in pageants, she began a career as an actress in Hindi cinema.
Jaitly starred in several popular movies. Some of her most famous roles were in the successful comedy films No Entry (2005), Apna Sapna Money Money (2006), and Golmaal Returns (2008).

Early Life and Family
Celina Jaitly was born in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. Her father, V. K. Jaitly, was a Colonel in the Indian Army, and her mother, Meeta, was a nurse, also in the army.
Growing up, Celina wanted to be like her father and join the army, either as a pilot or a doctor. Because her father's job required the family to move often, she lived in many different cities and towns across India. This meant she attended more than a dozen different schools. She later earned a degree in Commerce from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
Career Journey
Winning Beauty Pageants
Before becoming famous, Jaitly worked in marketing for a cell phone company in Kolkata. She decided to enter a local beauty contest and went on to win the Femina Miss India title in 2001. At the same event, she also won awards for her beautiful skin and was named "MTV's Most Wanted."
After winning Miss India, she represented her country at the Miss Universe 2001 pageant. She did very well and finished as the 4th runner-up.
Acting in Movies
Jaitly started her acting career in 2003 with the film Janasheen. The movie was a success at the box office. She also appeared in music videos, including one for the popular artist Jazzy B.
Over the next few years, she starred in many films. In 2005, she was in the comedy No Entry, which was a huge hit. The next year, she appeared in two more successful comedies, Tom, Dick, and Harry and Apna Sapna Money Money.
In 2008, she played a supporting role in Golmaal Returns, another very successful comedy. A movie critic, Taran Adarsh, praised her performance, writing, "Celina stays on your mind even after the show is over."
Her later films included the romantic comedy Thank You (2011) and a Kannada language film called Shrimathi (2011), which were both popular with audiences.
Personal Life
Celina Jaitly is married to Peter Haag, a hotel owner from Austria. In 2012, they had twin boys. In 2017, she had another set of twin boys. Sadly, one of the babies passed away because of a heart condition.
Working for a Cause
Jaitly is a strong supporter of the LGBTQ community in India. She has worked to promote equal rights for everyone.
She was a vocal supporter of removing Section 377, a law that made homosexuality illegal in India. The law was finally changed in 2018. In 2014, she even sang in a music video called "The Welcome." The video was part of a United Nations campaign to fight against prejudice and promote acceptance.
