Jaswinder Singh Bains (born on April 1, 1975), known as Jazzy B, is a famous Indo-Canadian singer and songwriter. He is best known for his Punjabi music. He has also acted in Indian films, especially in Punjabi and Hindi movies.

Early Life and Music Career

Jazzy B was born in Durgapur, a town in Punjab, India. When he was five years old, his family moved to Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

His first music album, Gugiyan Da Jora, came out in 1993. The music for this album was created by Sukhshinder Shinda. Shinda suggested that Jazzy B should move to England if he wanted to become a big star in Punjabi music.

Jazzy B is a huge fan of the late singer Kuldeep Manak. In 2011, Jazzy B released an album called Maharajas. This album was a special tribute to Kuldeep Manak. It even included some of Kuldeep Manak's original singing. Kuldeep's son, Yudhvir, who is also a singer, joined Jazzy B on many songs for this album.

So far, Jazzy B has released 12 studio albums and two religious albums. He has also worked with many other artists on different songs.

Film Career

Jazzy B first appeared in a movie in 2000, in Shaheed Udham Singh. In 2006, he was in a song called "Chuk De Punjabi" in Sunny Deol's movie Teesri Aankh: The Hidden Camera.

In 2012, he made his acting debut in the movie Best of Luck. He starred alongside Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal. The movie was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Jazzy B also made a special appearance in Diljit Dosanjh's movie Jatt & Juliet 2 in 2013. In 2014, he acted in Romeo Ranjha. While filming stunts for Romeo Ranjha, Jazzy B got seriously hurt. He even said he had a "near-death" experience. He shared that his whole life flashed before his eyes, and all he wanted was to live and not leave his family too soon.

He continued to appear in films, including a special role in Dharmendra's movie Double Di Trouble in 2014. In 2022, he appeared in a song for the Punjabi movie Posti. He also played a police officer in the suspense movie Snowman: The Dark Side of Canada in 2022.

Notable Works and Collaborations

Jazzy B's music videos have helped launch careers. For example, in 2000, John Abraham started his modeling career in Jazzy B's music video for "Surma". In 2001, Celina Jaitley appeared in his song "Oh Kehri".

He is famous for his song "Dil Luteya" with Apache Indian. This song was from his album Romeo. Many famous actresses have appeared in his songs, like Esha Gupta in "Glassy" (2008) and Surveen Chawla in "Naag 2" (2010) and "Mitran De Boot" (2014).

In 2015, he worked with the international rapper Snoop Dogg on a song called "Most Wanted". This song was shown on MTV India. A cool fact is that his old song "Sat Rangey" was used in the background of the Hollywood movie Deadpool in 2016!

Jazzy B is also the first South Asian entertainer to have his name added to the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Star Walk in Vancouver. This is a big honor! In 2024, he was featured in AP Dhillon’s song “315” and also appeared in the Netflix documentary Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous.
