Jaswinder Singh Bains (born on April 1, 1970), known as Jazzy B, is a famous singer and songwriter from Canada with roots in India. He is known for his Punjabi music and has also acted in Indian films, especially in Punjabi and Hindi movies.

Early Life and Music Career

Jazzy B was born in Durgapur, a town in Punjab, India. When he was five years old, his family moved to Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

His first music album, Gugiyan Da Jora, came out in 1993. The music for this album was created by Sukhshinder Shinda. Shinda suggested that Jazzy B move to England to have a successful career in Punjabi music.

Jazzy B is a big fan of the late singer Kuldeep Manak. In 2011, Jazzy B released an album called Maharajas. This album was a special tribute to Kuldeep Manak. It featured Kuldeep's son, Yudhvir, who is also a singer. Some of Kuldeep's original singing was kept in the album. Many other songs were sung by Jazzy B and Yudhvir to honor Kuldeep Manak.

Jazzy B has released 12 studio albums and two religious albums. He has also worked with many other artists on different songs.

Film Acting Journey

Jazzy B first appeared in a movie in 2000, in Shaheed Udham Singh. In 2006, he was in a song called "Chuk De Punjabi" in the movie Teesri Aankh: The Hidden Camera.

In 2012, he made his acting debut in the movie Best of Luck. He starred alongside Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal and Miss India Universe 2008 Simran Kaur Mundi. The movie was filmed in Vancouver, Canada.

He also made special appearances in other films. In 2013, he was in Diljit Dosanjh's Jatt & Juliet 2. In 2014, he acted in Romeo Ranjha. During the filming of Romeo Ranjha, Jazzy B got seriously hurt while doing stunts. He later said that he felt like he almost died. He realized how much he wanted to live and be with his family.

In 2014, he had a special role in the movie Double Di Trouble. In 2015, he sang the title song "Zalim Dilli" for the movie Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend. In 2019, he sang a song for the movie Kesari, which starred Akshay Kumar. In 2020, he was featured in the song "Gallan Kardi" for the movie Jawaani Jaaneman. In 2022, he appeared in the song "Ghaint Galbaat" in the Punjabi movie Posti. Also in 2022, he played a police officer in the suspense movie Snowman: The Dark Side of Canada.

Notable Works and Achievements

Jazzy B's music videos have helped launch careers. In 2000, John Abraham started his modeling career after appearing in Jazzy B's music video "Surma". In 2001, Celina Jaitley was featured in his song "Oh Kehri". Mahek Chahal appeared in his songs and videos "Jindey" and "Chak De Boli".

He is very well known for his song "Dil Luteya" with Apache Indian. This song was from his album Romeo. Esha Gupta was in his song "Glassy" from the album Rambo in 2008. Surveen Chawla appeared in his song "Naag 2" in 2010.

Jazzy B sang "Fukraa" for the movie Rush in 2012. In 2013, he sang "Jugni" for the movie Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns. In 2014, Surveen Chawla was again in his duet song "Mitran De Boot". He also sang for the movie Shaadi Ke Side Effects in 2014.

In 2015, he worked with the famous international rapper Snoop Dogg on the song "Most Wanted". This song was shown on MTV India. His old song "Sat Rangey" was even used in the background of the Hollywood movie Deadpool in 2016.

Jazzy B is the first South Asian entertainer to have his name added to the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Star Walk in Vancouver. This is a huge honor!

In 2016, he sang "Love The Way You Dance" for the movie Tutak Tutak Tutiya. In 2017, Bigg Boss contestant Lopamudra Raut was in his song "Crazy Ya". In 2019, he sang "Ajj Singh Garjega" for Akshay Kumar's movie Kesari.

In 2020, his song "Jine Mera Dil Luteya" was remade as "Gaallan Kardi" for the movie Jawaani Jaaneman. He was also a judge on the Zee Punjabi show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" with Sonu Kakkar and Jaidev Kumar.

In 2024, Jazzy B was featured in AP Dhillon’s song “315”. He also made surprise appearances at AP Dhillon’s concerts. In the same year, he appeared in the Netflix documentary Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, which looked at the life of Yo Yo Honey Singh. In 2025, Jazzy B performed at the Juno Awards of 2025. His song Coolin was also nominated for an award there.
