Surveen Chawla was born on August 1, 1984. She is a talented Indian actress and dancer. Surveen has starred in many Hindi and Punjabi movies and TV shows. She is known as one of the top actresses in Punjabi cinema.
Surveen began her acting journey on television. She appeared in popular shows like Kahin To Hoga and Kaajjal. Later, she became famous for her roles in films such as Hate Story 2 (2014), Ugly (2013), and Parched (2015). She also acted in the TV series 24 (2016). In 2018, she joined the cast of the Hindi web series Haq Se.

Surveen's Acting Journey
Starting on TV
Surveen Chawla first appeared on a reality show called Coke [V] Popstars in 2003. She was one of the top 25 contestants. Her first TV acting role was as Charu in the Indian show Kahin To Hoga.
In 2004, she also appeared in Kasautii Zindagi Kay. From 2006 to 2007, she played the main character in the TV show Kaajjal. Surveen also showed her dancing skills on the reality dance show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena in 2008. She was paired with cricketer S. Sreesanth. Later, she hosted the TV show Comedy Circus Ke SuperStars.
Moving to Movies
Surveen made her film debut in 2008 with the Kannada movie Paramesha Panwala. In 2011, she starred in the Punjabi film Dharti. After that, she appeared in several other Punjabi films. These included Taur Mittran Di, Saadi Love Story, Singh vs Kaur, Lucky Di Unlucky Story, and Disco Singh (2014).
She also performed a special dance number called "Dhoka Dhoka" in the Hindi film Himmatwala (2013). In the same year, she acted in the Tamil film Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal. She also appeared in the thriller film Ugly, directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Success in Films and TV (2014-2017)
In 2014, Surveen Chawla starred in the popular Punjabi song 'Mitran De Boot' with Jazzy B. She also played the main role in Hate Story 2. In this film, she played Sonika Prasad, a strong character seeking justice. The movie was very successful.
She also appeared in the song "Sawan Aaya Hai" in the film Creature 3D. Her Tamil film Jaihind 2 was also released. Surveen performed another special dance in the Hindi film Welcome Back. She also starred in the Punjabi film Hero Naam Yaad Rakhi with Jimmy Shergill. In 2015, she played the role of Bijli in the film Parched. In 2016, Surveen participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Recent Work (2018-Present)
In 2018, Surveen Chawla started working in web series. She made her digital debut with ALT Balaji's Haq Se. In this series, she played Mehr Mirza, the oldest of four sisters. The story is set in Kashmir. She also appeared in Sacred Games as Jojo Mascarenas. More recently, she has been seen in Decoupled (2021) and Rana Naidu (2023).
Surveen's Personal Life
Surveen Chawla married Akshay Thakker in 2015. Their wedding took place in Italy. She shared the news of her marriage with the public two years later, in December 2017.
