Surveen Chawla (born on August 1, 1984) is an Indian actress and dancer. She acts in movies and TV shows, mainly in Hindi and Punjabi languages. Surveen is known as one of the top-paid actresses in Punjabi films.
She began her acting journey on television. Some of her early TV shows include Kahin To Hoga and Kaajjal. Later, she became famous for her roles in films like Hate Story 2 (2014), Ugly (2013), and Parched (2015). She also appeared in the TV series 24 (2016). In 2018, she starred in the Hindi web series Haq Se.

Surveen's Acting Journey
Starting on TV
Surveen Chawla first appeared on TV in 2003. She was one of the top 25 contestants in the reality show Coke [V] Popstars. Her first acting role was as Charu in the Indian TV show Kahin To Hoga.
In 2004, she also acted in Kasautii Zindagi Kay. From 2006 to 2007, she played the main character in the TV serial Kaajjal. She also hosted a TV show called Comedy Circus Ke SuperStars.
In 2008, Surveen joined the dance reality show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. She danced with Indian cricketer S. Sreesanth on the show.
Moving to Films
Surveen made her film debut in 2008 with the Kannada movie Paramesha Panwala. In 2011, she starred in the Punjabi film Dharti. After that, she acted in many other Punjabi films. These include Taur Mittran Di, Saadi Love Story, Singh vs Kaur, Lucky Di Unlucky Story, and Disco Singh (2014).
She also performed a special dance number called "Dhoka Dhoka" in the Hindi film Himmatwala (2013). In the same year, she appeared in the Tamil film Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal. She also acted in the thriller film Ugly, directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Recent Work (2014–Present)
In 2014, Surveen Chawla was seen in the popular Punjabi song 'Mitran De Boot' with Jazzy B. She also appeared in the song "Sawan Aaya Hai" in the film Creature 3D. Her Tamil film Jaihind 2 was also released around this time.
She performed another special dance in the Hindi film Welcome Back (2015). She also starred opposite Jimmy Shergill in the Punjabi film Hero Naam Yaad Rakhi. One of her most notable roles was as Bijli in the critically acclaimed film Parched (2015).
In 2016, Surveen participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 9.
In 2018, Surveen started working in digital web series. She made her web debut with ALT Balaji's Haq Se. In this series, she played Mehr Mirza, the oldest of four sisters. The story is set in Kashmir. She also appeared in Sacred Games and Decoupled. In 2023, she starred in the series Rana Naidu.
Surveen's Personal Life
Surveen Chawla married Akshay Thakker in 2015. Their wedding took place in Italy. She shared the news about her marriage with the public two years later, on December 27, 2017, through Twitter.

Surveen Chawla has won several awards for her acting.
- In 2011, she won the Best Debut Female award at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards for her role in Dharti.
