Hirdesh Singh (born March 15, 1983), known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, is an Indian rapper, singer, music producer, and actor. He started his music career in 2003. He worked behind the scenes in the music world until he released his first album, International Villager.

Early Life and Education

Hirdesh Singh was born in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, on March 15, 1983. His family is Punjabi. His parents are Sardaar Sarabjit Singh and Bhupinder Kaur. He also has a sister named Sneha Singh.

When he was a child, his family moved to Delhi. He went to Guru Nanak Public School in the Pitampura area of North West Delhi.

Music Career Highlights

Honey Singh is famous for mixing Punjabi and Hindi music. He prefers to sing in these languages instead of English. He became well-known after releasing his Punjabi album International Villager in 2011. A popular song from this album, "Gabru", quickly became a hit on Asian music charts.
