The Zee Cine Awards (ZCA) are special awards given every year in India. They celebrate the best movies and people in the Hindi film industry. These awards started in November 1997. Their goal was to honor "Excellence in cinema – the democratic way." This means they wanted to let people help choose the winners.

History of the Awards
The first Zee Cine Awards were held in Mumbai, India. This continued until 2004. That year, the awards show became international. It was held in Dubai for the first time.
Where the Awards Have Been Held
After Dubai, the ZCA traveled to many other places. They were held in London, Mauritius, and Malaysia. London hosted the awards again in 2008. These international shows made the awards famous worldwide.
Breaks in the Awards Show
The Zee Cine Awards did not happen in 2009 and 2010. This was because a TV show called Dance India Dance was very popular. The awards returned in 2011. In 2012, they were held in Singapore and then at the CotaiArena in Macao. The 2018 show took place back in Mumbai. The awards were also paused in 2021 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
