Sonakshi started her career as a costume designer. She then made her acting debut in 2010 with the action film Dabangg. This movie helped her win the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Sonakshi Sinha was born on June 2, 1987, in Patna, Bihar, India. Her parents are the well-known film actors Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. Her father's family is from Bihar, and her mother's family is Sindhi Hindu. Her father was also a member of parliament for a political party.
Sonakshi is the youngest of three children. She has two older twin brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha. She went to Arya Vidya Mandir school. Later, she studied fashion design at Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University. Before becoming an actress, Sonakshi worked as a costume designer for a short time. She designed costumes for films like Mera Dil Leke Dekho in 2005.

Starting Out and Becoming Famous (2010–2014)
Sonakshi Sinha started her acting journey in 2010 with the movie Dabangg. She starred alongside Salman Khan in this film. Dabangg became one of the highest-earning films of 2010 and was a huge success. Sonakshi worked hard to lose 30 kilograms for her role as a village girl. Sonakshi Sinha started dating actor Zaheer Iqbal in 2017. They both starred together in the film Double XL in 2022. Sonakshi and Zaheer got married on June 23, 2024, in a civil ceremony.
Sonakshi is a vegan, which means she does not eat any animal products. She has said that she prefers to live with her parents, even after buying her own house. However, she moved out in 2023.
Sonakshi loves animals very much. She has worked with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) to encourage people to adopt and sterilize dogs and cats. She made a video asking people to adopt animals from shelters instead of buying them. She believes that buying pets from breeders makes many animals homeless.
