Tara Sutaria, born on November 19, 1995, is an Indian actress. She mostly works in Hindi films. She started her career as a singer on Disney Channel India's show Big Bada Boom in 2010. Later, she became an actress in Disney sitcoms like The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir (2012) and Oye Jassie (2013).
Her first movie was Student of the Year 2 in 2019. For this role, she won the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut. Since then, she has starred in several action films. These include Marjaavaan (2019), Heropanti 2, and Ek Villain Returns (both 2022). In 2023, she showed her acting range in the survival thriller Apurva.

Early Life and Background
Tara Sutaria was born in Mumbai, India, on November 19, 1995. Her father, Himanshu Sutaria, is a Hindu. Her mother, Tina Sutaria, follows the Zoroastrian religion. Tara's name means "star" in Sanskrit.
She has a twin sister named Pia. Both sisters learned different dance styles. They trained in classical ballet, modern dance, and Latin American dances. They studied at famous dance schools in the United Kingdom. Tara has been a professional singer since she was seven years old. She sang in operas and many competitions. She earned a bachelor's degree in Mass Media from St. Andrew's College of Arts, Science and Commerce.
Career Journey
Starting with Television
Tara Sutaria began working with Disney Channel India as a video jockey. She continued her work with Disney and starred in two successful TV shows. She also recorded music for films and advertisements. One of her songs, "Slippin' Through My Fingers," was part of a musical production. She also played the main role of Sandy in the musical Grease.
She has performed solo concerts in cities like London and Tokyo. Tara has sung with famous musicians like Louiz Banks. She was also a soloist for the Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble for over ten years. In 2008, she was one of the top seven young singers in the "Pogo Amazing Kids Awards." She became well-known for her roles as Vinnie in The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir and Jassie in Oye Jassie.
Moving to Films
In 2019, Tara Sutaria made her first movie appearance. She starred in Punit Malhotra's teen film Student of the Year 2. She acted alongside Tiger Shroff and Ananya Panday. The movie was about a college student competing in a school championship. Critics had mixed reviews for the film. It did not do very well at the box office.
Later in 2019, Sutaria played Zoya, a mute music teacher, in the action film Marjaavaan. She acted with Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh. The film earned a good amount of money worldwide. In 2021, Tara starred with Ahan Shetty in the romantic thriller Tadap. This movie was a remake of a Telugu film called RX 100. Critics had different opinions about Tadap.
In 2022, Tara reunited with Tiger Shroff in the action movie Heropanti 2. This film received negative reviews and was not successful at the box office. Her next film in 2022 was Ek Villain Returns, where she starred with Arjun Kapoor. This movie also received mixed reviews.
Tara wanted to show more of her acting skills. So, in 2023, she took on the main role in the crime thriller Apurva. This film was released on Disney+ Hotstar.
