Tara Sutaria (born on November 19, 1995) is an Indian actress. She is known for her work in Hindi films. Tara started her career as a singer on Disney India's show Big Bada Boom in 2010. Later, she became an actress in Disney sitcoms like The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir (2012) and Oye Jassie (2013).
In 2019, Tara made her first movie appearance in Student of the Year 2. For this role, she won the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut, which is an award for the best new actress. She has also starred in action films such as Marjaavaan (2019), Heropanti 2, and Ek Villain Returns (both 2022). In 2023, she showed her acting skills in the survival thriller Apurva.

Early Life and Education
Tara Sutaria was born in Mumbai, India, on November 19, 1995. Her father, Himanshu Sutaria, is Hindu, and her mother, Tina Sutaria, is Zoroastrian from the Parsi community. Her name "Tara" means "star" in Sanskrit.
Tara has a twin sister named Pia. Both sisters learned different dance styles. They trained in classical ballet, modern dance, and Latin American dances. They studied at famous dance schools in the United Kingdom. Tara has been a professional singer since she was seven years old. She sang in operas and many competitions. She earned a bachelor's degree in Mass Media from St. Andrew's College of Arts, Science and Commerce.
Career Journey
Starting in Television (2010–2013)
Tara Sutaria began her journey with Disney Channel India. She worked as a video jockey. She also starred in two popular sitcoms for the channel. Besides acting, Tara has recorded music for films and advertisements. She has also created her own original songs.
She played the main role of Sandy in the musical Grease, produced by Raell Padamsee. Tara has performed solo concerts in cities like London, Tokyo, and Mumbai. She also sang with famous musicians Louiz Banks and Mikey McCleary. For over ten years, she was a soloist for the Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble. In 2008, she was one of the top seven young singers in the "Pogo Amazing Kids Awards." She became well-known for playing Vinnie in The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir and Jassie in Oye Jassie.
Film Career (2019–Present)
Tara Sutaria was considered for the role of Princess Jasmine in the American film Aladdin (2019). However, Naomi Scott got the part. Tara made her big screen debut later that year in Student of the Year 2. This teen film was directed by Punit Malhotra. She starred alongside Tiger Shroff and Ananya Panday. The movie was about a college student who competes in a school championship.
In 2019, Tara also played Zoya, a music teacher who cannot speak, in the action film Marjaavaan. She acted with Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, and Rakul Preet Singh. The film earned a good amount of money worldwide.
In 2021, Tara starred in the romantic thriller Tadap. This movie was a remake of a Telugu film called RX 100. She acted with new actor Ahan Shetty. Critics had mixed opinions about the film.
In 2022, Tara reunited with Tiger Shroff in the action movie Heropanti 2. This film did not do well at the box office. Later that year, she appeared in the action thriller Ek Villain Returns. She starred with Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, and Disha Patani. This was her third movie in a row that did not perform well commercially.
Wanting to show more of her acting abilities, Tara played the main character in the crime thriller Apurva (2023). This film was released on Disney+ Hotstar. Even though some critics did not like the movie itself, they praised Tara's performance. They felt it allowed her to truly act, rather than just be a pretty face.
