Jai Hemant Shroff (born on March 2, 1990), known as Tiger Shroff, is an Indian actor. He is famous for his roles in Hindi action films. His parents are well-known actors Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Dutt. Tiger started his acting journey with the action-romance movie Heropanti in 2014. For this role, he won an award for the best new male actor.
Tiger Shroff has starred in many successful action movies. These include Baaghi (2016), Baaghi 2 (2018), and War (2019). He also helped start a mixed martial arts group called Matrix Fight Night in 2019. He has been listed among the top celebrities in India by Forbes India. Besides acting, Tiger has also released several songs as a singer.

Early Life and Family
Jai Hemant Shroff was born on March 2, 1990. His father is the famous Indian film actor Jackie Shroff. His mother, Ayesha Shroff, is a film producer and used to be an actress. Tiger has a younger sister named Krishna Shroff. His family background is a mix of different cultures. On his father's side, he has Gujarati and Turkmen roots. On his mother's side, he is of Bengali and Belgian descent. His grandfather, Air Vice Marshal Ranjan Dutt, was a brave military officer.
Tiger Shroff is a devoted Hindu and a follower of Lord Shiva. He believes his strong body comes from his faith. He fasts every Monday and during the Mahashivaratri festival. He went to school at the American School of Bombay.
Tiger is very skilled in martial arts. He often helps other actors train for their movie roles. In 2014, he received an honorary fifth-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
Acting Career Highlights
Starting Out and Big Success (2014–2020)
In 2012, Tiger Shroff was chosen by producer Sajid Nadiadwala for his first movie, Heropanti. This was an action-romantic comedy directed by Sabbir Khan. To get ready for the role, he trained hard to become very flexible. When Heropanti was released in 2014, it became a big hit. People praised his amazing dancing, action scenes, and strong physique. He was also good at performing stunts. Even though some people found his acting a bit new, his action skills were admired. Tiger won the Screen Award for Best Male Debut and the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male for this film.
In 2016, Tiger worked again with Sajid Nadiadwala and Sabbir Khan on Baaghi. This movie was about a martial arts school and also starred Shraddha Kapoor. Baaghi was another big success. Later that year, he played a martial arts teacher who gets superpowers in the superhero film A Flying Jatt, alongside Jacqueline Fernandez. In 2017, Tiger teamed up with Sabbir for the third time in the dance film Munna Michael. However, A Flying Jatt and Munna Michael did not do well at the box office.
In 2018, Tiger Shroff starred in Baaghi 2, directed by Ahmed Khan. This movie was a follow-up to Baaghi and featured Disha Patani. Tiger played a rebellious army officer looking for his ex-girlfriend's missing daughter. Baaghi 2 was a huge hit, becoming one of the top-grossing Bollywood films of 2018.
In 2019, Tiger appeared in Student of the Year 2, a teen drama. This was his first romantic drama film. He played a college student competing in a school championship. Critics noted that Tiger's performance was a strong point of the movie.
Later in 2019, Tiger Shroff starred in the action thriller War with Hrithik Roshan. This film became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year. It is also Tiger's most successful movie to date. War had a record-breaking opening day.
In 2020, he starred in Baaghi 3, the third movie in the Baaghi series, reuniting with Shraddha Kapoor. The movie's earnings were affected because theaters closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, the film still earned a good amount worldwide.
Recent Films (2021–Present)
After no new releases in 2021, Tiger Shroff starred in Heropanti 2 in 2022. This was a sequel to his first film, and he acted opposite Tara Sutaria. The movie received mixed reviews and did not perform well at the box office. In 2023, Tiger played a dual role in the science fiction action film Ganapath, where he worked with Kriti Sanon again. While his action scenes were praised, some felt his emotional acting could be stronger. This film also faced challenges at the box office.
In 2024, Tiger teamed up with Akshay Kumar in the action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. This movie was released during the Eid festival. Some critics found the performances of both lead actors challenging. The film did not perform as expected. Tiger also made an appearance in Rohit Shetty's Cop Universe film Singham Again (2024), starring Ajay Devgn. This film had moderate success.
Tiger Shroff is expected to star next in the action sequel Baaghi 4.
