Hrithik Roshan (pronounced [ˈɾɪt̪ɪk ɾoʃən]; born 10 January 1974) is a famous Indian actor who works in Hindi cinema, also known as Bollywood. He is known for playing many different types of characters and for his amazing dancing skills. Hrithik is one of the highest-paid actors in India. He has won many awards, including six Filmfare Awards. Four of these were for Best Actor. Since 2012, he has often been on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list, which ranks popular and high-earning celebrities.
Hrithik often works with his father, Rakesh Roshan, who is a film director. He first appeared in films as a child actor in the 1980s. Later, he worked behind the scenes as an assistant director on four of his father's movies. His first main role was in the hit film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000), which won him several awards. He gained more fame with the drama Fiza (2000) and the family film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001). However, some of his next films were not as successful.
A big turning point in his career was the science fiction film Koi... Mil Gaya (2003). For this movie, Hrithik won two Filmfare Awards. Early Life and Family
Hrithik Roshan was born on January 10, 1974, in Mumbai. He comes from a well-known family in Bollywood. His father, Rakesh Roshan, is a film director. His grandfather, Roshanlal Nagrath, was a music director. Hrithik's mother, Pinky, is the daughter of producer and director J. Om Prakash. His uncle, Rajesh Roshan, is a music composer. Hrithik has an older sister named Sunaina. He went to the Bombay Scottish School.
Growing up, Hrithik felt a bit lonely. He was born with an extra thumb on his right hand, which made some kids avoid him. He also had a stammer since he was six years old. In 2000, Hrithik faced a misunderstanding when some Nepalese newspapers accused him of saying he hated Nepal. This led to protests in the country. However, Hrithik denied making any such statement, and the situation calmed down after he clarified his position.
