Disha Patani, born on June 13, 1992, is an Indian actress. She is famous for her roles in Hindi movies. Disha started acting in 2015 with the Telugu film Loafer. Her first Hindi movie was M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story in 2016.
She also appeared in the Chinese action comedy Kung Fu Yoga (2017). Disha has starred in many popular films like Baaghi 2 (2018), Bharat (2019), and Malang (2020). More recently, she was seen in Kalki 2898 AD (2024) and Kanguva (2024). In 2019, Forbes India included her in their Celebrity 100 list.

Disha Patani's Early Life and Education
Disha Patani was born on June 13, 1992, in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. Her family comes from a Hindu Kumaoni Rajput background.
Her father, Jagadish Singh Patani, is a police officer. Her mother works as a health inspector. Disha has an elder sister named Khushboo Patani, who is a lieutenant in the Indian Army. She also has a younger brother, Suryansh Patani. Disha studied engineering at Amity University, Lucknow, but left in her second year. Before becoming an actress, she was the first runner-up in the Pond's Femina Miss India Indore competition in 2013.
Disha Patani's Acting Career
Starting Out in Films (2015–2020)
Disha Patani began her acting journey with the Telugu film Loafer in 2015. She acted alongside Varun Tej in this movie. In Loafer, she played Mouni, a girl who runs away from home to avoid a forced marriage. The film was directed by Puri Jagannadh.
The next year, Disha appeared in a music video called Befikra. She starred in it with Tiger Shroff. This music video was produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar.
Disha got her big break with Neeraj Pandey's film M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. This movie was a biography about the life of MS Dhoni, a famous former captain of the Indian Cricket Team. Disha played Priyanka Jha, the girlfriend of MS Dhoni's character. The film was a huge success. Disha won the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female for her role. She also appeared in the international film Kung Fu Yoga with Jackie Chan.
Later, Disha starred with Tiger Shroff again in Baaghi 2. This was the second movie in the Baaghi series. The film was very successful worldwide.
In 2019, Disha had a small role in the action film Bharat. She acted alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. This movie was also a big hit. In 2020, she starred in the action thriller Malang. Her co-stars included Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor. Critics praised her performance, and the movie did well. She also made a special appearance in a song for Baaghi 3.
Recent Films (2021–Present)
In 2021, Disha worked with Salman Khan again in the film Radhe. This movie was released online because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, Disha played a character in the thriller Ek Villain Returns. She starred opposite John Abraham.
In 2024, Disha appeared in the film Yodha. She played a terrorist disguised as an air hostess. Critics noted her potential as an action star. Disha then found success with the Telugu film Kalki 2898 AD. She was paired with Prabhas in this movie. Kalki 2898 AD was a major commercial success and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2024. After this, she acted in her first Tamil film, Kanguva, playing a bounty hunter.
