Katrina Kaif (born 16 July 1983) is a British actress who is famous for her work in Hindi-language films, also known as Bollywood. She is one of the highest-paid actresses in India and has won many awards for her performances.

Kaif is known for her amazing dancing skills and for starring in popular action movies. Although she was born in British Hong Kong, she moved around the world with her family before settling in London. She started her career as a model when she was a teenager.

Her first film, Boom (2003), was not a success. At first, it was hard for her to get roles because she was still learning to speak Hindi. But she worked hard and became a successful model in India. She later starred in hit romantic comedies like Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (2005) and Namastey London (2007).

Her career grew with successful films like New York (2009) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011). She also starred in some of the highest-grossing Indian action films, including Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Dhoom 3 (2013), and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). For her role in the drama Zero (2018), she won a Zee Cine Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Besides acting, Kaif launched her own makeup brand called Kay Beauty in 2019. She also works with her mother's charity, which helps children in need. Kaif is married to actor Vicky Kaushal.

Early Life and Family

Katrina Kaif was born in British Hong Kong on July 16, 1983. Her father, Mohammed Kaif, is a British businessman, and her mother, Suzanne, is an English lawyer and charity worker. She has seven siblings, including a sister named Isabel, who is also an actress and model.

Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father moved to the United States. Kaif has said that she and her siblings were raised by their mother.

Before moving to India, Kaif lived in London for three years. When she was 14, she won a beauty contest in Hawaii and got her first modeling job. She then worked as a professional model in London and often appeared at London Fashion Week.

Early Film Roles (2003–2005)

Boom was not successful, and critics did not like her performance. Because her Hindi was not fluent, some filmmakers did not want to cast her. So, she started taking Hindi classes to improve her language skills.

After her first film, she starred in a Telugu movie called Malliswari (2004). The film was a success, and she received many more movie offers. In 2005, she appeared in the hit romantic comedy Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?. She considered this film her first real step into Bollywood.
