Taran Kaur Dhillon (born on July 29, 1979), known as Hard Kaur, is a famous Indian rapper and hip hop singer. She also sings and acts in Bollywood movies.

Her Early Life Journey
Hard Kaur was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Her family is Punjabi and Sikh. When she was young, her family faced a very tough time. Her father was killed, and her mother's beauty shop was burned down.
After these sad events, she, her brother, and her mother moved to Hoshiarpur, Punjab. They stayed with her grandparents for a few years.
In 1991, her mother got married again. They all moved to Birmingham, England. Her mother worked hard to open a new beauty salon there. Hard Kaur went to school in the UK as an Indian immigrant. She soon became very interested in hip-hop music. This is where she started her career as a rapper.
Her Music Career
Hard Kaur began her music journey by recording a song called "Ek Glassy." This song became very popular in the UK. In 2007, she got a big break. She rapped for a Bollywood movie song called "Paisa Phek (Move Your Body)" from Johnny Gaddaar.
After that, she sang in many other movies. Some of her popular songs include "Talli" from Ugly Aur Pagli and songs in Singh Is Kinng and Bachna Ae Haseeno.
Her first solo album, Supawoman, came out in 2007. She also performed at a big event called Live Earth India in 2008.
In 2008, Hard Kaur won an award for "Best Female Act" at the UK Asian Music Awards. She was also nominated for "Best Urban Act."
In 2012, she released her second album, Party Loud All Year: P.L.A.Y. She wrote and composed all ten songs on this album. One of the most successful songs was Mujhe Peeney do.
She has also worked with other artists. In 2013, she teamed up with composer Ram Sampath. They worked with Rajasthani folk singer Bhanvari Devi for Coke Studio India. Hard Kaur even wrote a song for the FIFA World Cup called "Goal Mar Goal Mar." This song showed how excited fans get about football.
